Southern Subtalar Flatfoot

Southern Subtalar Flatfoot

"Southern Subtalar Flatfoot implants are cannulated, titanium (ASTM F136)screws with tapered profiles, available in 7 different close-interval sizes. When inserted at the lateral border of the talus in the Sinus Tarsi, the tapered profile anatomically repositions the talus and corrects the valgus deviation where the ideal implant size remains stable in the Sinus Tarsi while varus-valgas movements of the subtalar joint is allowed. In this way, the flatfoot blocks forward, downward and medial, displacement of the talus to allow normal subtalar joint motion, while blocking excessive pronation and the resulting sequela. The Southern Subtalar Flatfoot implant is indicated for use in the treatment of the hyper-pronated foot and the stabilisation of the subtalar joint. It is designed to block forward, downward and medial, displacement of the talus, thus allowing normal subtalar joint motion but blocking excessive pronation and the resulting sequela.
